Ronnie
E. Duncan is a Founder and President of THE DUNCAN COMPANIES, INC., a
Tampa,
Florida-based commercial real estate firm with regional offices in Fort
Myers
and Boca Raton, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; and Atlanta, Georgia.
The
Duncan Companies offers a complete spectrum of services – from market
analysis,
site selection and development management and consulting to general
office and industrial leasing,
brokerage and property management and consulting services.
The Duncan Companies representatives have developed over 1.5 million
square feet of office,
retail and industrial space and remain active in the industry’s
development sector throughout
the United States.
Mr.
Duncan was previously the managing partner in the development and
brokerage firm
of Sevell and Duncan Realty Services in Boca Raton, Florida.
Mr.
Duncan was formerly Director of Florida Development for the
Office/Industrial Properties
Division of The Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation.
In this capacity, Mr. Duncan was responsible
for all facets of the division including land acquisition, regulatory,
approval and permitting,
design planning, development and project management, architectural
review, construction administration
and complete project marketing and property management of major
commercial properties.
Mr. Duncan was involved in development of major properties and lease
transactions throughout the
southeastern region including: Brickell
Bay Office Tower – Miami, Florida; Miami International Park –
Miami, Florida; One Nashville Place – Nashville, Tennessee and Poydras
Plaza – New Orleans, Louisiana.
Prior
to joining The Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, Mr. Duncan was Executive
Vice President
of Grubb & Ellis of Florida, Inc.
In 1985, Grubb & Ellis acquired the Pittsburgh-based
commercial real estate firm of Oliver Realty, Inc., including the Tampa,
Florida operation
of which Mr. Duncan served as Vice President and General Manager.
His responsibilities included the direct management and supervision of
over seventy-five professionals
in two offices including the brokerage and property management
divisions,
the development consulting group and accounting and support staff
operations.
As Executive Vice President of Grubb & Ellis, Mr. Duncan was
responsible for the
asset management portfolio, which was in excess of 4.7 million square
feet of office, industrial
and retail space. Prior to
serving as Vice President, Mr. Duncan was Leasing Manager
with Oliver Realty, Inc. (a Grubb & Ellis Company) in Pittsburgh and
represented
numerous corporate clients.
Mr.
Duncan holds a master’s degree in real estate and urban planning from
the University of Georgia
and a certificate of service from a Florida Atlantic University program
designed to integrate
the business community into the planning process of growth in urban and
suburban centers.
He also holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University
of Georgia.
He is a licensed real estate broker.
Currently,
Mr. Duncan serves as a Member and Chairman of the Governing Board of
the Southwest Florida
Water Management District, a regional appointment by the Governor of the
State of Florida,
charged with the balancing of responsible preservation of today’s
water and natural resources
and the continued economic growth and development within the Region.
He is the co-chair ex officio of the Pinellas-Anclote River Basin Board
and serves as Chairman,
Finance and Administration Committee.
In
addition, Mr. Duncan is a member of the National Board of Directors for
the National Association
of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and Vice President of Public
Affairs for
the State of Florida Chapter of NAIOP.
He also serves as a member of the NAIOP Tampa Bay Board
of Directors and represents all local and state members as a part of the
Executive Committee.
Mr. Duncan received the National Association of Industrial and Office
Properties (NAIOP)
"Building the Bridge" National Award for building the bridges
of understanding and education between
the development community and the natural resources at the chapter,
state and federal levels.
For
NAIOP, he served as chair for the Federal Regulatory Issues Task Force,
the Growth Management
Task Force, and the State/Local Public Affairs Committee (National).
He also served as national Vice President of Public Affairs, as NAIOP of
Florida Vice President
of Public Affairs, and as Florida President/Vice President of NAIOP.
Mr.
Duncan serves on the Pinellas County/Florida Department of
Transportation U.S. Highway 19
Task Force and the Pinellas County Economic Development Task Forces.
Mr.
Duncan also serves on the Environmental Subcommittee of the
International Council
of Shopping Centers – National Public Affairs Committee, and the
Building Owners
and Managers Association Environmental Subcommittee.
Further,
Mr. Duncan is a member of the Community Affairs Committee, Morton Plant
Mease
HealthCare System, Clearwater, Florida and currently chairs the Indigent
Care Task Force
for Pinellas County.
Mr.
Duncan has served as a member of the Business Advisory Board for Florida
Atlantic University
and a former member of the professional teaching faculty of NOVA
University, Davie, Florida.
Mr. Duncan is committed to and has served on the advisory board of The
Daily Bread Food Bank of Florida.
He
is an active member of both the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the
Tampa Chamber of Commerce.
Mr.
Duncan is married to Ann Wilkins Duncan, is the father of Katlyn and
lives in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
